The BenQ AK700ST is a 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) short-throw DLP laser projector that BenQ designed for golf simulation first and home entertainment second. It pairs 4,000 ANSI lumens with a 0.69–0.83 throw ratio, a motorized 1.2x zoom lens, Auto Screen Fit for 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, and 1:1 impact screens, curved-screen warping, and an IP5X dustproof sealed engine for garage installations.
With a short-throw projector, the mounting point is decided by your screen width, ceiling height, and where the golfer stands. BenQ states that the AK700ST's short-throw lens and low offset allow it to sit behind the golfer, out of the swing path, without casting a shadow into the hitting zone.
Before ordering, measure your screen and room and send us the numbers, or use BenQ's Golf-Sim 3D Planner. We will help you confirm the throw distance, mount location, and screen border requirements for your bay.
The lens is built to fill a large impact screen from a short distance, so the projector can be mounted behind the hitting position rather than in front of it.
Throw ratio is lens-to-screen distance divided by image width, across the 1.2x zoom range.
Adjust image size without repositioning the mount.
BenQ cites detail and sharpness on impact screens up to 10 feet high.
Auto Screen Fit uses a camera to detect the impact screen and fill it at the selected aspect ratio. Focus is set with the Quick Focus button on the remote, followed by small manual adjustments.
Screen Fill supports 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, and 1:1.
BenQ states Auto Screen Fit supports gray impact screens.
Non-standard ratios are set through your graphics card settings.
For curved impact screens, the AK700ST includes built-in image warping with four selectable correction grids: 5x3, 10x5, 15x9, and 24x15.
BenQ rates the AK700ST at 4,000 ANSI lumens with 4K UHD resolution (8.3 million pixels) and 95% Rec. 709 coverage.
A picture mode BenQ tuned to reproduce the natural colors of a golf course.
30-bit color (1.07 billion colors) and a 3,000,000:1 FOFO contrast rating.
Dedicated HDR10 and HLG picture modes for films and live sports.
BenQ rates the laser light source life at up to 20,000 hours, with no lamp to replace.
The sealed engine removes the need for regular filter replacements.
BenQ specifies an operating range of 0–40 °C, relevant for unconditioned garages.
Outside of simulator sessions, the same projector serves the room for films, live sport, and console or PC gaming.
3D, Bright, Cinema, Game, Golf, HDR10, HLG, sRGB, User 1, and User 2.
