Golf Launch Monitors
Choosing a Golf Launch Monitor: Where It Sits, Where You Use It, and What It Needs
This collection lists launch monitors from many different manufacturers, and they are not interchangeable. They differ in where the unit is positioned, whether they are intended for indoor or outdoor use, and what else has to be in place before they work.
Where the unit sits
Some monitors are positioned beside or behind the ball, and others are mounted overhead. An overhead unit depends on suitable ceiling mounting and clearance; a unit positioned beside the ball needs room in the hitting area instead. Each product page states which arrangement that model uses.
Indoor, outdoor, or both
Some models in this collection are sold specifically for indoor use, and others are intended to be used on a range as well. Check the listing rather than assuming a unit suits both.
Check what is needed for simulator use
Simulator requirements vary by model. Depending on the unit, you may also need compatible software, a subscription, and a computer or tablet. Confirm the requirements shown on the specific product page before building a room around it.
Before you order, confirm
- Whether the unit is mounted overhead or positioned beside the ball
- The manufacturer's stated space and ceiling requirements for that model
- Whether the model is intended for indoor use, outdoor use, or both
- Which software the unit works with, and whether a subscription is required
- What else is needed to run it, including a computer, tablet or projector
