The FlightScope i4 Rangefinder combines precise laser yardage, slope measurement, real-time environmental data and personalized club information to help golfers make better on-course decisions.
When paired with the FS Golf mobile app, the i4 can calculate an effective playing distance and recommend a club using the measured target distance, elevation change, current conditions and the golfer’s own launch or gapping data.
Most laser rangefinders tell you how far away the target is. The i4 is designed to help answer the more useful next question: which club should you hit under the current conditions?
Its advanced FS Mode combines target distance, slope, local environmental information and your personal club profile. Golfers who prefer a completely phone-free device should understand that these connected features require the FS Golf app, Bluetooth and cellular data.
In FS Mode, the i4 combines laser-measured distance, personal launch or gapping data, current environmental conditions and selected wind direction to recommend a club for the shot.
Because the recommendation is based on your own performance profile, it can be more useful than a generic club chart that assumes every golfer produces the same speed and trajectory.
The i4 measures direct laser distance and can provide a separate effective playing distance that accounts for elevation and current environmental conditions.
FlightScope’s environmental calculations help model how the ball may perform compared with the golfer’s established baseline conditions.
Golfers can enter their home location, clubs and carry information inside FS Golf to create a personalized gapping profile. Launch data can also be incorporated where available.
A representative profile helps the system produce more useful club recommendations than a generic distance chart.
FlightScope users can work with compatible gapping-session data from FS Golf. Golfers using another launch-monitor workflow may also be able to import compatible CSV session data.
CSV compatibility depends on the file structure and available fields, so every raw export should not be assumed to import without preparation.
The i4 can adjust playing distance for uphill and downhill elevation. A dedicated toggle allows slope assistance to be turned off when it is not permitted.
Golfers remain responsible for following the rules and local conditions of competition for each event.
The i4 has a published measurement range of approximately 5 to 1,000 yards, a measurement speed of approximately 0.05 seconds and published accuracy of approximately plus or minus one yard under suitable conditions.
Actual target acquisition can vary with target size, reflectivity, lighting, weather, hand stability and line of sight.
At approximately 180 grams, the i4 is designed for one-handed operation and convenient bag storage. Its integrated magnet allows attachment to compatible metal golf-cart surfaces.
The internal battery recharges through USB-C and is rated for up to approximately 15,000 measurements per charge under published test conditions.
The i4 carries an IPX4 weather-resistance rating and is designed to tolerate light rain and splashing encountered during normal course use.
IPX4 does not mean the rangefinder can be submerged, washed under running water or left exposed to prolonged heavy rain.
| Choose the FlightScope i4 When | You want personalized club recommendations, environmental calculations, Smart Gapping and the ability to use your own launch or carry-distance information. |
|---|---|
| Consider a Basic Laser When | You only need direct target distance and prefer not to connect a phone, app, Bluetooth or cellular service during a round. |
| Consider a GPS Device When | You prioritize front, center and back green distances, course maps and blind-shot information rather than precise laser targeting. |
| Best Data Experience | Build a representative club profile using accurate gapping or launch information rather than estimated distances alone. |
