A-10C Replica Dual Throttle and Control Panel for PC Flight Simulation
Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog™ Dual Throttle

The Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog™ Dual Throttle is Thrustmaster's replica of the dual throttle system and throttle control panel from the U.S. Air Force A-10C. It is sold as a standalone throttle for PC, aimed at pilots who already own a joystick and want a full HOTAS (Hands On Throttle And Stick) setup.

Both throttle levers use Thrustmaster's H.E.A.R.T. magnetic (Hall Effect) sensors at 14-bit resolution (16,384 values) per throttle. A locking system joins the two levers or leaves them independent for two-engine control, and the weighted control panel adds 15 action buttons and a TRIM wheel.

Officially Licensed by U.S. Air Force 14-bit Resolution per Throttle Lockable Dual Throttles PC Platform
Joystick not included: This is a standalone throttle. The HOTAS Warthog Flight Stick, TFRP rudder pedals and MFD cockpit panels are sold separately, and a PC is required. Thrustmaster lists PC as the only platform.
ProSimHQ Expert Insight
A Home-Cockpit Throttle: Check the Warranty Before a Commercial Install

For a home PC setup, the Warthog throttle gives you two levers you can lock together or split for independent engine control, pull-and-push idle and afterburner detents, and a built-in switch panel for procedures that would otherwise live on the keyboard.

The tradeoff is on the commercial side. Thrustmaster's warranty does not apply if the product is used for anything other than home use, including professional or commercial purposes such as game rooms, training, and competitions. Venues and training operators should plan for that before specifying it.

Our recommendation (ProSimHQ opinion, not a manufacturer statement): A strong fit for home PC pilots who want twin-lever control and a physical switch panel. For a commercial bay, talk to us about the warranty position first.
Dual Throttle System and Detents

The two throttle levers can be locked together or kept independent, so the same unit works for single-lever and two-engine flying.

Locked or Independent Levers

A locking system attaches the two throttles together or keeps them separate.

Pull-and-Push Detents

Moving into the Idle and Afterburner detents uses a pull-and-push action.

Friction Wheel

Turn right to increase lever resistance, left to decrease. It ships at minimum friction, and minimum to maximum takes roughly ten full turns.

Afterburner stop is not installed by default: Thrustmaster's manual describes enabling it by removing the bar between the two levers with the included Allen key, turning the module upside down and refitting it. The manual also warns never to use the levers without that bar properly installed with its two screws.
H.E.A.R.T. Sensors and Slew Control

H.E.A.R.T. (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) places 3D magnetic (Hall Effect) sensors on both throttles.

14-bit Resolution (16,384 values)

Thrustmaster's stated resolution for each of the two throttles.

Mouse Hat with Push Button

Thrustmaster describes it as a 2-axis mini-stick with its own 3D magnetic (Hall Effect) sensor.

Throttle Inputs

The throttle unit has a metal hand rest, and Thrustmaster lists 17 action buttons in total, plus 1 mouse hat with push button and one 8-way "point of view" hat, on the throttle unit:

1 x mouse hat with push button and 3D magnetic sensor (Hall Effect)
1 x 8-way hat
1 x 4-way hat with push button
1 x push button
1 x 3-position switch (2 momentary + 1 permanent)
2 x 3-position switches (3 permanent)
1 x 3-position switch (1 momentary + 2 permanent)
Weighted Control Panel

The control panel sits on a weighted base (over 3.5 kg) built in underneath the throttles. Thrustmaster lists 15 action buttons in total plus 1 TRIM wheel, and describes realistic pressure on the buttons and switches, with industrial metal switches (2 or 3 positions) on the panel:

1 x TRIM wheel
2 x push buttons
5 x 2-position switches (2 permanent)
2 x 3-position switches (1 momentary + 2 permanent)
2 x 3-position switches (3 permanent)
5 programmable LEDs
Backlit Functions

Five intensity levels, from 1 (minimum) to 5 (maximum), with level 2 as the default. Set in T.A.R.G.E.T.

Programmable LEDs

The 5 LEDs can be managed directly in T.A.R.G.E.T.

PC Software, Drivers and Firmware

The throttle connects by USB and has upgradeable firmware. Drivers, firmware and the T.A.R.G.E.T software are published on Thrustmaster's support page for this product.

T.A.R.G.E.T Software

Thrustmaster's suite to test, configure and program its controllers, including simulating virtual keyboard, joystick and mouse devices. System requirement: Windows 10 / 11.

Driver Package

Thrustmaster's current Hotas Warthog driver package lists Windows 11 / 10.
