The Next Level Racing® F-GT Shift is the next evolution of the convertible sim racing cockpit. Its patent-pending Quick Fold Mechanism moves the cockpit between a low-slung Formula position and an upright GT position in under five seconds, with no tools, and a Hybrid position sits between the two. The Ø42 mm tubular steel frame uses cast-metal hinges and reinforced connections, the reclining SIMAERO Mesh seat is integrated, a heavy-duty shifter arm is included, and the seat is pre-fitted for the Next Level Racing® HF8 and HF8 Pro haptic pads.
Every convertible cockpit before this one made you choose between a quick changeover and a rigid frame. The classic F-GT is rigid, but moving it between Formula and GT means repositioning the seat, wheel, and pedal assemblies. The F-GT Shift puts the conversion on a hinge: lift, fold, and race, in under five seconds and with nothing to unbolt.
Where it sits in the range: above the F-GT Lite, which folds for storage but is not built for high-torque direct drive, and alongside the classic F-GT, which costs more, weighs 22 kg more, and includes a padded bucket seat rather than a mesh reclining seat. If you want a padded seat or Motion Platform V3 support, the F-GT or F-GT Pro remain the better fit. If you want to go from a GT3 race to a single-seater session without a toolkit, this is the one.
The patent-pending Quick Fold Mechanism is the reason the F-GT Shift exists. The rear pivot leg and cast-metal hinges let the whole cockpit change geometry without tools, so the switch between racing disciplines takes seconds instead of an afternoon.
Low-slung, reclined seating with elevated pedals for single-seater racing.
Upright geometry for GT3, touring car, endurance, rally, and road-car driving.
A middle setting between the two for drivers who want one compromise position.
The frame is reinforced Ø42 mm tubular steel with bespoke cast-metal hinges at the pivot points, finished in gloss black with matte-black accents.
Patent-pending cast connections carry the loads at the fold points.
Side clamp plates and a mid-frame brace lock the frame square once assembled.
A front roller assembly lets you tip and roll the cockpit to reposition it.
Next Level Racing's instruction manual states the F-GT Shift has been tested with wheelbases up to 25 Nm, and recommends not exceeding 15 Nm settings for the best experience.
Up to 25 Nm, per the manufacturer.
15 Nm or below for the best experience, per the manufacturer.
The seat is a hammock-style reclining SIMAERO Mesh design: breathable suspended mesh on an open frame, with an adjustable backrest angle and a headrest tube.
Suspended mesh keeps air moving during long sessions.
Tool-free backrest angle adjustment across Formula, Hybrid, and GT.
Two HF8 velcro strips are in the box; the pad mounts beneath the seat fabric.
The adjustment points use knobs rather than bolts, so position changes do not need the toolkit after initial assembly.
Height adjusts on knobs; the front wheel plate angle adjusts separately.
Slides in a T-nut channel on shoulder knobs for reach and angle.
Included as standard and mounts on the left or right side.
