Trackman iO is Trackman’s first launch monitor built specifically for indoor golf. The unit mounts on the ceiling and uses Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking (OERT): a 24 GHz radar and a high-speed camera running at up to 4,600 fps, lit by an embedded infrared light system. It reports ball and club data in real time, including directly measured 3D spin and spin axis.

The iO’s strength is its installation. Nothing sits on the floor, no club or ball markers are needed, and the embedded infrared lighting means no extra lights. Trackman states there is no minimum distance in front of or behind the ball for tracking. Its setup guidance still calls for at least 8 ft 2 in from tee to screen.
On the iO, the software package makes a bigger difference than on most launch monitors. The Home package lists club speed as its only club parameter. Home Complete and Commercial list nine. Home and Home Complete are for private use only. Commercial is for commercial use only.

Trackman’s setup guidance gives a minimum room height of 9 ft 4 in and an ideal mounting height of 9 ft 8 in above the hitting surface. Trackman notes the height differs by iO unit type.
Direct ceiling mount with the bracket attached to the iO, when the ceiling is within Trackman’s direct-mount range. Above that range, Trackman specifies a VESA 100 × 100 mount with an adjustable drop pole, which is not included.
Minimum 8 ft 2 in from tee to screen, and Trackman warns of a risk of shadowing below that. 10 ft is recommended for safety and comfort.
