The VIRPIL WarBRD-D H.O.S.A.S Bundle — ALPHA Prime Edition is a complete dual-stick setup: two WarBRD-D bases, a matched pair of left- and right-hand Constellation ALPHA Prime metal grips, and two V4-S desk mounts with the adapters to fit them.
H.O.S.A.S means hands on stick and stick — two flightsticks rather than a stick and throttle. A dual-stick H.O.S.A.S layout can be configured so one stick manages translational inputs while the other manages pitch, roll and yaw. Exact assignments depend on the simulator and the user’s control configuration. It is for the pilot who has decided dual-stick is how they want to fly and wants the whole setup to arrive matched and mountable.
Special order. This product is factory-allocated by VIRPIL Controls, with an estimated total delivery timeframe of 27–60 business days.
A dual-stick H.O.S.A.S layout can be configured so one stick manages translational inputs while the other manages pitch, roll and yaw. Exact assignments depend on the simulator and the user’s control configuration. It is the arrangement pilots move to once six-degree control stops being something they can map comfortably to a stick and throttle.
The independently adjustable clutch dampers are what make the pair usable rather than merely present. Because each base is tuned separately, one stick can be set heavy and the other light.
VIRPIL describes the clutch range:
for fast, raw inputs.
prevents centering oscillations and assists steady aim.
keeps the stick from returning to centre.
the top cover allows direct access to the clutches for adjustment.
because the dampers are independently adjustable, the two sticks can be set up differently.
VIRPIL specifies 14-bit native resolution with 0.02° angle detection for the WarBRD-D base.
contactless sensors with a dual-cam-per-axis gimbal in aircraft-grade duralumin.
VIRPIL specifies a premium, lightweight metal grip body with a textured surface, and upgraded RGB lighting with more configurable zones. Each grip carries:
can be pressed simultaneously as a combined trigger for additional stages.
1 ×, with push.
3 × 4-way hats with push, and 1 × 2-way hat with push.
3 ×.
on a VPC Contactless Sensor, plus a momentary button.
1 ×, with dual push.
on a VPC Contactless Sensor.
with programmable RGB lighting.
supplied with the bundle.
required hardware to secure the bases to the mounts.
VIRPIL notes the WarBRD-D desk mount adapter retains direct access to the clutch adjustments once the base is installed on a VPC desk mount.
The WarBRD-D base accepts a wide range of VIRPIL grips:
WarBRD Grip, V.F.X Grip, MongoosT-50 Series Grips, FLNKR Grip.
Constellation ALPHA Series Grips and the Constellation DELTA Grip.
SharKa-50 Grip, Hawk-60 Grip, Dual-SF Grip.
Warthog, F/A-18C and Cougar Grips.
the ALPHA Prime grips in turn fit the VPC WarBRD series and MongoosT-50 series bases, and the Rotor TCS and TCS Plus collectives.
four standard pre-installed, four heavy and four extra-heavy.
32 across AviaSim and CosmoSim profiles, in no-centre and soft-centre variants.
the centering force and deflection feel of both sticks can be changed without buying anything further.
A dual-stick layout can be configured to separate translational inputs from pitch, roll and yaw.
A matched left and right pair rather than two ordered separately.
Two V4-S mounts and adapters are included in the box.
Independently adjustable clutch dampers on each base.
The WarBRD-D base accepts a wide range of VIRPIL grips.
Twelve springs and 32 cams ship with the bundle.
Both bundles use the same WarBRD-D base and the same ALPHA Prime grip family. They differ in what the second hand does, and in whether desk mounts are supplied.
